How to Install Android on WITS A81 MID

I just got android image for A81 , and can’t wait to test it

we have seen this in many other device , such as SmartQ , this is first to run android on A81 MID.

how to start it ?

press the power button for will start wince os

press the power button and flash button will start Android, you will see this

then

how to quit ?

click restart button , you will find it on the right

there is few software as it is a beta version , it doesn;t support wifi and bluetooth , and does’t sound

two games and a video player software

there is only one button on A81 , it is both menu and back button.

how to install android?

1. run winhex.exe

2. tool->disk tool-> clone disk

3. click source and choose android image location , click Destination and choose sd card location, Start sector must be zero.

4. press reset button and power button together

I cannot get it to load – does it require a specific firmware version?

Tried that, it just goes to winCE. If I hold them for a while I just get a blank screen (powers down).

Hello, I followed your instructions also but when I press the flash button and power button together nothing happens. Does it not need a bootloader?

Thanks for the video but when I am using winhex and follow your instructions, at the end of the Clone Disk I get \access denied\ and also a \successful\ pop up. I then put the disk into the device and follow the instructions but nothing happens. So I’m thinking there is something wrong with winhex?

this is only a beta version , and the image is so huge , when they finish it , it will be much smaller
i have suggested them to use a simple method to install and start android , it better to make a menu before start

I think there is a problem with using winhex. I don’t get anywhere using it.
I used powerISO to extract the android img. It contained 2 partitions, FAT32 and Linux. So I partitioned my sd card, 128M FAT32 bootable (vfat) and the rest Linux (ext3). In the vfat partition I put the mlo, mmcuboot.bin and the uImage and into the ext3 partition I placed the android filesystem.
When I put the sd card into the device and follow your instructions I get the screen with the different colours.
but that is as far as it gets.

what is wrong?

i don’t know , i don’t have any problem with using winhex , and have installed into all my stock A81

what version of winhex do you have? I am using 15.5 SR-4. I noticed in your screen shot of winhex that it says “Copy entire medium” but in my version it says “Copy entire raw image file”, so maybe it is a version issue?

When I press ok in clone disk, its starts to copy the sectors. When it finishes, I get “Access denied” dialog box. I press ok on it and I get another dialog box saying sectors successfully copied. I put the sd card into the A81 and do as you describe but nothing happens

when I right click on the sd card in my computer and go to properties it says:
used space: 0 bytes
free space: 0 bytes
capacity: 0 bytes

also the sd card will not open, windows asks me to format the disk

Thank you for sharing the Android links.
While browsing on the Android resource, I followed the Android image link that’s posted on rayfile. Yet I got a 404 Error Page.
Well.. seems to be the image have been removed

Can you reupload the Android image to another File Hosting Service?

Please help. I think I have bricked my friends A81 while flashing the
new 5/18 Android image to it. I preped the card as I had the first time
I installed android, but this time the screen stayed white for over
an hour. The device didn’t respond tp any button presses or reset.
Faced with no other option I removed power and battery.
Now device will not power on. It does nothing. Onnly led in power button
Lights up. No other sign of life. What can I do? Is all lost?
